Editorial Policy
How Healthtips researches, writes, checks and updates its health articles.
Our Purpose
Healthtips exists to explain everyday health topics in clear, simple language. We want readers to understand their health better and to know when it is time to speak to a doctor. Our content is for general education and never replaces professional medical care. Please read our Medical Disclaimer.
How We Create Articles
- Choose a useful topic. We write about questions readers commonly ask about nutrition, fitness, common conditions, home remedies, mental health, women’s health and children’s health.
- Research trusted sources. We rely mainly on public health bodies and medical organisations, such as the World Health Organization (WHO), the NHS, the CDC, Mayo Clinic and peer-reviewed research.
- Write in plain language. We explain medical terms simply, use clear headings and give practical tips readers can understand.
- Check before publishing. We review each article for clarity, accuracy and safety, and we avoid exaggerated or unproven claims.
- Update when needed. We revisit articles and update them when guidance changes or new evidence appears.
Our Standards
Accuracy
Health claims are based on reliable sources, not rumours or social media posts.
Safety First
We encourage readers to see a doctor for symptoms, medicines and treatment decisions.
Original Writing
We write our own articles and do not copy content from other websites.
Honest Claims
We do not promise miracle cures or guaranteed results.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not give personal medical advice, diagnosis or prescriptions.
- We do not recommend stopping or changing prescribed medicines.
- We do not publish content that promotes dangerous diets, unproven cures or harmful practices.
- We do not let advertisers decide or change what our articles say.
Sources and Links
Where possible, our articles link to the trusted sources used. External links are provided for further reading, and we are not responsible for the content of other websites.
Use of Tools
We may use writing and editing tools, including AI-assisted tools, to help prepare drafts. Every article is checked by a person before publication, and we remain responsible for what we publish.
Medical Review
Some articles may be reviewed by a qualified healthcare professional. When this happens, we state it clearly on that article, along with the reviewer’s name. Articles without a stated reviewer have not been medically reviewed.
Advertising and Independence
Healthtips may show advertisements. Advertising is separate from our editorial work, and ads do not influence our articles. Showing an advertisement does not mean we recommend or endorse a product or service.
Corrections
We make mistakes sometimes. If you find an error or outdated information, please tell us through our Contact Us page. We will review it and correct the article where needed.
